Ethereum: How do I use the new GPG signing feature with my Trezor?

Use the new Ethereum GPG signature function with your Trezor: a step by step instruction

In my latest update in April 2023, Trezor hardware letters now support the production and review of digital subscriptions using an ECS (Electronic Code Subscriptions) system. This function is based on Ethereum’s open source base and uses a GPG-based approach to ensure safe transactions and communication.

What is GPG and ECS?

GPG means Global Privacy GNU, an open source method free to encrypt data using encryption on a public key. With ECS (Electronic Code Subscriptions), individuals or organizations can sign messages, documents, and even entire data blocks that guarantee their authenticity and integrity.

How implemented Ethereum ECS with Trezor?

The ECS ECS system is based on OpenSC project, which is an open source implementation of X.509 digital certification standards used for digital signatures. The Trezor Letter bag uses a combination of public encryption (RSA) and GPG encryption to create and check these signatures.

Use your handbag Trezor

Then you can use your handbag Trezor to sign and check the ECS messages:

  • Place the Trezor Web area : Open the web interface on your Trezor Hardware Bag by clicking “Settings”> “Web Wallet”.

  • Create or import a pair of public keys : If you don’t have an existing public couple, create one with Trezor’s integrated keys. You can also import an existing private and public couple.

  • Messages with GPG : To sign a message with your handbag Trezor, go to “Settings”> “Tools”> “Generate Stop Key Pair”. Then use the public key (used for signature) and private keys (used for verification) to generate an ECS signature.

How to check your signed messages

Ethereum: How do I use the new GPG signing feature with my Trezor?

To verify the authenticity of signed messages:

  • Open the web interface : Access the web interface of your letters Trezor.

  • Show the signed message : Take a look at the message that was signed with your letter pocket Trezor. It must display a digital signature of an ECS system.

  • Compare with the signed subscription

: In the Trezor web area, you will find “Settings”> “Tools”> “Signature Verification”. You will see if the verified signature you have generated correspondence.

Tips and Precautions

– Always keep your key privately to prevent unauthorized access to your Ethereum balance or other confidential data.

– GPG encryption is considered highly secure for signature and revision of digital signatures.

Make sure that your Trezor Bag is updated with the latest firmware to ensure compatibility with the new ECS function.

In my last update, there are no Satoshi Labs tutorials on its official website. Step -by -step instructions should serve as a clear introduction to the use of Ecs’s ECS system with its Trezor Hardware Bag. Always consult the official documentation and support resources to get additional questions or problems you may be.
